Submission Guide

How to get a high AI score.

Everything you need to know to submit your tool, what the AI actually looks for, and the small things that make the difference between a 60 and a 95.

1Basics

The AI reads your name and tagline first.

Your tool name and tagline are the first things the AI uses to understand what you've built. A vague tagline ("AI tool for productivity") scores lower than a specific one ("Automate email follow-ups with AI saves 2 hrs/week on average").

The website URL must work. The AI attempts to verify claims by visiting your site. A broken URL automatically lowers your score on the Verifiability dimension.

Category matters more than you think. Tools in the right category appear in the right search results and get compared against appropriate competitors. A writing tool listed under "Code" will underperform even with a great description.

Do this
  • Name: what users call it (not a legal entity name)
  • Tagline: one specific sentence with a real outcome
  • URL: the live product page, not a landing page
  • Category: where users would search for your tool
Avoid this
  • Generic taglines: "AI-powered productivity tool"
  • URLs that redirect to a login wall or 404
  • Wrong category to avoid AI tool comparisons
  • All-caps names or excessive punctuation!!!
Fields highlighted in purple are weighted heavier by the AI scoring algorithm.
Specificity is the single biggest driver of your Description score.
2Description & Details

Specific claims score higher than adjectives.

The AI scans descriptions for specificity, verifiability, and originality. Adjectives like "powerful", "fast", and "easy" add nothing they appear in every submission. Numbers, outcomes, and named features do.

Key features section

List 3–6 bullet features. These are indexed separately from the description and appear in filtered searches. Write them as outcomes, not product specs: "Cut meeting prep time by 40%" not "Has AI summarisation".

Tags

Tags control which category-filtered searches your tool appears in. Use exact terms people search for: text-to-image not generates images. Bad tags are worse than no tags they put you in front of the wrong audience.

Do this
  • "Reduces content writing time by 70% on average"
  • "Used by 14,000+ marketers at 200+ companies"
  • "Integrates with Notion, Slack, and Google Docs"
  • Use tags people actually type when searching
Avoid this
  • "Powerful AI that makes your workflow easier"
  • "The best tool of its kind"
  • "Revolutionary technology for everyone"
  • Stuffing 6 tags when 3 accurate ones are better
3Logo & Screenshots

Media is the most-ignored part of high-scoring submissions.

Community members see your logo and first screenshot before they read a word. Tools with a clear logo get 3× more clicks than those without. Tools with 3+ screenshots get 2.4× more upvotes.

The AI also uses screenshots as evidence. If you claim a feature exists, a screenshot showing it in use increases your Verifiability score directly.

Do this
  • Square logo, 512×512px minimum, PNG or SVG
  • Transparent background or dark-mode compatible
  • First screenshot: your most impressive core feature in use
  • Real data in screenshots not placeholders
Avoid this
  • Horizontal banners that get cropped in the logo slot
  • White backgrounds they clash with our dark UI
  • Marketing hero images that show no actual product
  • Screenshots with personal info or sensitive data visible
★AI Scoring

How your AI Score is calculated.

The AI Score (0–100) is a weighted composite across five dimensions. Scores are public, permanent, and updated when your tool changes significantly.

Does the tool actually do what it claims? The AI tests key features.

  • Description quality

    25%

Specificity, evidence, and accuracy of your written submission.

  • Media presentation

    20%

Logo quality, screenshot count, and screenshot relevance.

  • Category fit

    15%

How well the tool matches its declared category and tags.

  • Verifiability

    10%

URL accessibility, claim evidence, and consistency of information.

Quick tips

The things that move the needle most

Tagline formula

Use this pattern: [Who you help] [specific action] [measurable outcome]. Example: "Helps indie founders write landing pages 4× faster with AI copy suggestions."

Screenshot order

1st: Your core feature in action. 2nd: A result or output the tool produces. 3rd: A workflow or integration. 4th–5th: Secondary features or settings.

Tag strategy

Use the exact phrases users type into our search box. Check what tags top tools in your category use. Overlap with popular tags intentionally.

What the AI cares about

Evidence beats claims. "Used by 8,000 developers" beats "loved by developers". Screenshots beat descriptions. Specifics beat generalisations.

Community momentum

Share your listing on day one. Early upvotes push you onto the home feed. The home feed drives 60% of all first-week tool page views.

URL matters

Link directly to the product, not a VC portfolio or marketing page. A working product URL that the AI can visit raises your Verifiability score immediately.

FAQ

Common questions

Typically 3–10 minutes after submission. The AI reads your description, tests key claims where possible, and writes a public verdict with a score breakdown. You'll get an email when it's live.

Yes. You can edit your tool's description, screenshots, pricing, and URL at any time from your Maker Dashboard. Major feature changes may trigger a re-review by the AI.

Scores are based on the quality and specificity of information you provide, plus how the tool performs on key dimensions. Improving your description, adding screenshots, and fixing any broken URLs often raises scores significantly. You can't pay to change a score, but you can improve it by improving your submission.

Yes significantly. Tools with 3+ real UI screenshots average 2.4× more clicks and a 7-point higher AI score on the Media Presentation dimension. The AI looks for evidence that the tool does what you claim.

No. Submissions must come from the tool maker, an authorised representative, or someone with explicit permission from the maker. Submitting a competitor's tool or a tool without permission violates our Content Policy and will result in removal.

The home feed features tools with high AI scores, strong community vote momentum, and recent launch dates. Focus on a complete, detailed submission with great screenshots the rest follows naturally.

The basic submission is free for all users. Free accounts can submit 1 tool per month. Pro users get unlimited submissions. Maker plan users get priority AI review and a featured badge on their listings.
